No Objection Certificate (NOC) Templates and Guide

A no objection certificate, or NOC, records that an authorized issuer has no objection to a specified action or arrangement. The templates below provide sample layouts. The wording and required supporting information depend on the purpose and the receiving authority.

Choosing the right format

An employment, travel, property or other NOC may require different details. Do not assume one layout works for every organization. Confirm who can issue the document and whether the receiving authority provides its own required form.

Details to include

  • Issuer and person or organization concerned
  • Specific purpose, relevant dates and any limits
  • Issue date, reference and authorized signature or stamp

How to use the template

  1. Check the recipient’s requirements before choosing a template.
  2. Describe the action covered precisely and remove unrelated wording.
  3. Have the authorized issuer verify the information and sign the final document.

Worked example

An employment-related NOC should identify the employee and the exact activity the employer is addressing. It should not imply a wider permission than the issuer intended.
