An attendance sheet records presence or absence during a class, shift or event. These templates can support student and employee records. Select a layout that matches the period you need to track, such as a single session or a month.

Choosing the right format
A session sheet needs a date and participant list. A monthly sheet needs clearly labeled days and a key for attendance codes. Attendance records document participation; they do not by themselves explain performance or the reason for an absence.
Details to include
- Class, department or event and reporting period
- Participant names and daily or session entries
- Code key, relevant notes and checked totals
How to use the template
- Choose a consistent code such as P for present and A for absent.
- Enter records for the correct date and distinguish an unrecorded entry from an absence.
- Check totals and restrict access to personal attendance information.
Worked example
For five scheduled sessions, four P entries and one A entry give four attended sessions. Confirm the organization’s rules before treating leave or partial attendance as an absence.
