A statement of account summarizes transactions and the balance on a customer account for a defined period. The templates below can help organize invoices, payments and credits. A statement summarizes an account; it is not the same as an individual invoice or payment receipt.

Choosing the right format
Choose a layout with a clear reporting period and enough rows for transactions. If using a spreadsheet, check any existing formulas before relying on totals. Do not assume every downloaded sample calculates balances automatically.
Details to include
- Business, customer, account reference and reporting period
- Opening balance, dated invoices, payments and credits
- Closing balance and any agreed payment information
How to use the template
- Start with the confirmed opening balance.
- List transactions in date order and distinguish charges from reductions.
- Reconcile the closing balance with the account records.
Worked example
Opening balance 100, new invoices 250, payments 200 and credits 20 produce a closing balance of 130 currency units. Check the sign convention used by your layout.
Download and printing notes
Check the destination and file format of each existing download before using it. Some samples link to an external resource; its availability and terms are controlled by that provider.
